Parental Involvement

Parent Board: Representatives from each grade are selected to be members of the school parent board. The board meets once a month and is involved in some decision-making and fundraising activities within the school community.

Service Hours Requirements: All parents are required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of service to the school community per year. Examples of this service include working at the annual International Festival, planting flowers, and assisting at the annual Book Fair.

Field Trip Chaperones: Parents are sometimes invited to serve as chaperones for their child’s field trips. Teachers are responsible for coordinating this activity with the parents. All chaperones must be VIRTUS trained (www.virtus.org).
